Ned - Nyala

Posted by Picasa
Ned and the nyala antelope have a long history in which the nyala has up until now held the winning hand. This is a truly beautiful trophy.

Thought I would try an old style sepia effect on this photo. I liked the way it turned out. Ned is an old style hunting gentlman. He hunts in a traditional style and with a set of old world ethics which are a rare a example to us all. Perfect shot on a good impala.

Wayne - Waterbuck

After an enormously succesful year laste Wayne was back in search of new challenges. A waterbuck was on his list and this fine specimen was harvested with his deadly Black Widow Recurve.

Gemsbuck - Ned

My very old friend Ned came to visit again and put his Hoyt Recurve to good use. In typical Ned style this fantastic "non typical" gemsbuck was harvested by him. He describes the old bull as being full of character which we have to agree with.

This was the first trophy on this hunt. Our first big hunt of the season. Congratulations to Gordy and Johannes this was Johannes's first hunt as a professional.

Ed - Gemsbuck with Renier

Posted by Picasa
Renier one of our new PH's whom Ed is thinking of adoping as his 15th child was on hand to hold this gemsbuck's horn which it had broken on running from the shot. Another deadly shot by Ed.

It was a wonder to watch Ed hunting. A lifelong dream for him has been to come to Africa and hunt. We were glad to be able to make this happen. Various disabilities meant getting special permission for Ed to hunt with a modified bow. His standard of shooting was so good that he seemed the least disadvantaged of us all. After day one I don't think Ed stopped smiling. This great hog was one of two that Ed harvested.
